There are several good movies coming out this holiday season, but one makes the top of my list. Several years ago, my dad recommended a book that he said was one of the best books he has ever read. After I read it, I couldn’t agree more.
The book is Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand, and the movie, based on the book, comes out Christmas day. It is the true story of Louie Zamperini, a juvenile delinquent, Olympic runner, World War II bombardier, and prisoner of war in Japan. Read the book or watch the movie or do both! You will be fascinated and inspired by his life! Sadly, Louie died July 2, 2014, but his story lives on.
