“All I want is lovin' you and music, music, music,” Ava sings with the big band throughout The Final Song. It was a song that reflected the hearts of many Americans following World War II. They wanted their loved ones back from the battlefield, and they wanted peace and happiness after a time of great fear and struggle. Like the first two books in the The War Song Series, The Final Song continues to pay tribute to the great big band and gospel music of the time.


“Music! Music! Music!” was written by Stephen Weiss and Bernie Baum and published in 1950. The most popular version of the song was performed by Teresa Brewer and The Dixieland Allstars. It became a number one hit in 1950. This song is particularly special to me as it was one of my grandfather’s favorites, and it has also become one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it too! I love Teresa Brewer's bright smile and peppy performance.
