Do you love old big band and gospel music like me? If so or if you just want to check out some older hits from our country's past, I have some music for you! My husband suggested that I build a Spotify playlist for each of the three books in The War Song Series.
Each book features a variety of popular big band and gospel music from the 1940s and early 1950s. In Songbird, there are such great musical selections as "Sentimental Journey," "Who Wouldn't Love You," "I'll Fly Away," and my absolute favorite, "It's Been a Long, Long Time."

“Who wouldn’t love? Who wouldn’t care?” her clear voice began to sing, and Ava was mesmerized by its fluidness and the unassuming way she accented each word and traveled over each note. “Who wouldn’t buy the west side of heaven if you just winked your eye?”
“The trumpet player came all the way from South Carolina to play tonight,” Ernie leaned over and whispered, and Ava became conscious of his presence again. “With the war going on,” his voice rose, as the music escalated, “everybody is losing band members.”
